  • [Forum] How do I un-install Blog and CMS components?

I uninstalled them from Products, I removed their files (I think I got them all) from the forum directory.

But every time I update my forum and upload new files, I get the following error when running install/upgrade.php
    • Upgrading to 4.1.7 Beta 1
    • Step 1 - Altering thread Table (1 of 1)
    • Step 2 - Altering session Table (1 of 4)
    • Step 3 - Altering session Table (2 of 4)
    • Step 4 - Altering session Table (3 of 4)
    • Step 5 - Altering session Table (4 of 4)
    • Step 6 - Altering apiclient Table (1 of 2)
    • Step 7 - Altering apiclient Table (2 of 2)
    • Upgrading to 4.1.7
    • Upgrading to vbblog
    • An error has occurred. Please contact vBulletin Support for assistance.
      Module: vbblog, Step 1 Error.
Mismatch between product version 4.1.6 and vBulletin version4.1.7

Were all of the files for this release uploaded?

I do not need CMS and Blog and I switched two of my licenses around, so this site went from having a suite license to having a forum only license.

You can uninstall those products under Plugins / Products -> Manage Products.

You'll also have to download the Forums package instead of the Suite package to do the upgrade after uninstalling them.

that's exactly what i'm doing. i can only complete the upgrade if i upload all the suite files. if i only upload the forum package files, i get the above error.

I thought if you purchased the suite package you only have download access to the suite package?

You do, nothing says he didn't obtain a copy of the suite software at some point though.

The OP is wanting to convert from Suite to Forums only. How can he download a Forums only if he purchased a Suite to begin with?

the site in question used to have a suite installed, but i never used the blog or cms. i bought another license for forum only for a new site, but decided to use cms and blog on it, so i switched the licenses around. i own to active licenses, one forum and one suite.

what about blog.php and all the blog_***.php files in the root of the forum?

                      blog_functions_***.php files under /includes?

                      version_vbblog.php ?

vbblog and vbcms folders under packages?

The customer has multiple licenses. In his original post he stated he switched his licenses around so the site with the Suite is now going to use Forum and the site with the Forum is going to use the Suite. Convoluted but he has access to both. I've already looked at his customer account.

After you upgrade, you can run Suspect File Versions and it will tell you what files to remove.

i upgraded and removed (i think) most of the blog and cms files. Now when I run Suspect File Versions, it tells me "File not found" for the files I just removed.

sounds like you still have old suite files in your installation
