  • [Forum] [CMS] Can an image be put at the end of an article title?

I would like to place a image at the end of my article titles for articles that are for premium members only. Thus allowing members and visitors a chance to see what is free and what is premium w/o having to click the article title and get directed to a page stating they don't have permission to veiw said article.

If by "article" you mean post then you cannot, if you mean thread, you cannot.

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

It shouldn't be too bad to do. First, create a new section with the appropriate permissions. Then you should be able to do something like <vb:if $parentnode == X>Custom Image</vb:if> in the article preview template.

Actually, by "article" I think he means article, not thread or post.

Completely different question. Not sure why you're confused.

In computing, language is paramount, each word or icon having a very precise meaning, I am informed on this thread that an "article" is one thing then on the link I posted an "article" is a post ? is that not confusing, I had assumed an "article" was a post or thread only to be told it was not.

Well, sorta. Just applies to things that are off-shoots of the forum. So, while a an article might be a post, a post is not especially an article. So when someone refers to an "article" and they use the CMS prefix, you can be pretty sure it's a CMS article. The attachment value is global, so the syntax is less crucial.

On that basis an "article" is a thread ?

Yes...............but only if you want to confuse people. The OP specified "CMS", so it only mean article.

The reason for my query regarding the actual meaning of the word "article" is this, with regard to the original Q, if "article title" means "thread title" then you cannot put an image in the "title" box but it is possible to put an image in a "title description" which seems to be what the OP is wanting to do.
