  • [CMS] VB Completely Disappeared

I've neglected one of my site for the past two years, it was running fine the last time i checked but now it seems VB has vanished. After not using VB for so long I'm going around in circles or feel I might of missed something important ( I See VB 5 is released)

Anyway i've tried a an upgrade - No sign of upgrade path even though i've copied the url from my ftp.

    The site is http://www.youthworkforum.ie
The forum is suppose to be located at: http://www.youthworkforum.ie/forum/index.php

But it seems to of vanished

    HELP

    Thanks

Maybe it's located at another place or the forum directory was deleted.

According to our records the URL was indeed - http://www.youthworkforum.ie/forum/

You would need to reupload the files to this location via FTP- or contact your host to ask why the files were deleted. Hopefully the database wasn't deleted- this isn't a VB issue, there is no option to delete the software.

Assuming the database still exists you'd need to redo the config.php file to work with the database after uploading the new files. Do not run install.php or upgrade.php, According to our record you were last using VB 4.1.10, so upload that version.

No the files are all still in place they were not deleted and I just checked the config. and its matched up to a database that is still intact.

I already uploaded the latest version of VB4 earlier but the forum was not shown up before or after the upgrade.

I'd roughly 700 members, looks like i'm going to have to start all over again ?

Not necessarily, if you have access to the database, make a back up and you should be able to restore it.

Cheers but i've about 12 databases and I back them all up regularly which means I would of been backing up a broken site ?

I'll give it a try though

            thanks

The database is not what is broken- it has nothing to do with your issue.

This is a link to a file in all VB 4.x versions - http://www.youthworkforum.ie/forum/ajax.php

That link should bring up a blank (white) page, but instead it says the file does not exist.

You claim the files do exist.

Therefore you need to contact your host to find out why the web server is not serving up the files you see are there.

This is not a database problem and not an error with vBulletin. This is either a case of missing files or a changed/bad web server configuration.
