  • [Forum] Manually entering Google +1 code?

    I know this isn't going to get answered by the vBulletin staff.. cause it's not officially supported. I've been having issues with the badly programmed plugins over at vbulletin.org.

    I just want the Google +1 script added on the /forums/ page without causing and conflicts with the CK Editor, or loading pages.

    It should be simple enough.

        Well yes but unless you are familiar with programming an add-on is the best you can do or you need to edit templates.

            Take the template SHOWTHREAD edit it and add the following:

            Code:
            <!-- Place this tag where you want the +1 button to render -->
            <g:plusone size="small"></g:plusone>
            You need to find a spot where it sits correctly for this example put it above:

            Code:
            <div id="above_postlist" class="above_postlist">
            Then edit the footer and add this:

            Code:
            <!-- Place this tag after the last plusone tag -->
            <script type="text/javascript">
              (function() {
                var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;
                po.src = 'https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js';
                var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);
              })();
            </script>
            Make sure it works and if it doesn't you need to debug it a bit, changes are that the script is in the wrong place. Now edit all templates that you want to have the Google +1 button.

              Personally, I try not to use SINGLE templates, cause I have about 15 templates and I don't feel like changing my code in every one of them (unless you set them to the same parent and change the parent). The way I included a Google +1 button was to use ADVERTISEMENT section. Just added a div, positioned it the way I want it and it shows up on every page for ALL templates.
