[Forum] Unique Issue

Hey all,

A friend of mine has a forum where a couple of the moderators have made an enemy - they're not sure who - and this person is constantly attempting to login to their accounts - affectively locking them out of the forum as they need to wait a specified amount of time before they can login again. What might be a good solution to prevent this from happening?

One moderator suggested logging in with their email address instead of their username and basically turning off username logins for team members. Are there any modifications that could make this happen?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

There is one on vbulletin.org, by hmbeatty, but i think both are enabled, but allows either choice to login, im not sure if its per usergroup only either.

Im sure you could find someone to modify to your liking though.

Could you ban the IP of the user? He should show up in the strikes table when he does that to your Mods. However, many people have dynamic IPs, so that may not be an option.

Honestly have your moderators tried logging in? The "lockout" should be by IP Address not username, even though they get the email they should be able to login.

Other option is for them to use "Remember Me" then they don't need to log in and it will work.

This wasn't actually happening at one of my own forums but if the lockout is done by IP Address, they really should not have anything to worry about...
