You have to do a couple of things.
1. Create a sub-section to your CMS home (CMS Home >> Sub Section).
2. Assign that sub-section the 100% layout.
3. Assign your article or static page to that sub-section.

CMS Section Help
I am having problems creating the CMS for my site. What I would like to know is how do get an Article, Static Page to display using a different layout then what my home CMS page uses?
My home page uses a 50% 25% 25 % grid layout, when a user clicks on a Article link or a link provided by me on the home tab (50% 25% 25%) and they are taken to the actual article or static page, I would like that page to displayed in a single column (100%) with no widgets or none of the main page content. I created a different layout with the 100% column, but I can for the life of figure out how to make those articles, static pages display 100% with no home page widgets.Tags: None
