[Forum] Moving threads to a Trash Forum

I am not sure if this can be done how I want, but I will ask.

Is there a way to create a "Trash Forum" that threads can be moved to, when they no longer need to be a part of the "public" forum.

I want to do it so that no one except for staff members can access the threads anymore, but the OP and other responders keep their posting points. Meaning, if the OP posted 5 times and has a total of 5 posts, and I move it to the Trash Forum, then he will still have 5 posts after it is moved.

I think all I need to do, is move it into my Private Forums sections, where no one but my staff has access to, but not sure if that is enough. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You have answered your own question ,make it private ,apart from the contradiction regarding the points.

So, I move it to the Private Forum, where the Trash Bin forum becomes Private as well, and I move threads there, then all posters in that thread, keep their post points.

I apologize for the contradiction in my sentence. Didn't notice it till just now. Meant to say that his 5 posts would remain 5 posts.
