I would like to increase the default character limit for the articles displayed on the front page

There is no way to only increase it on the frontpage. Only globally. You can also use the
tags to show a specific amount of content. Anything after will not be shown in the preview. -

The only setting for this is here:
Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Content Management -> Default Preview LengthSteve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

Is there a way to set default options, for article posting to CMS? For example, I'd like to set $conversation['display_pageviews']" to 0 as default.

We would put the page as homepage articles, as we might do this please. This is the page:
