Not unless you put it in a forum that was only viewable by that group.

I'm trying to avoid creating another forum just for that one thread. I was hoping there would be a way to make that one thread private to certain usergroups or individuals with a certain forum rank (X number of posts).

What you could perhaps do is create a notice only viewable to that usergroup but depending on whether you intended on replies that mightn't be appropriate.

I did intend to have replies.

Do you know if there is a mod available for what I'm looking for? I searched vbulletin.org but couldn't find anything. I'm shocked that one doesn't exist.

Now to me it looks like you might have to pay something for that option but I haven't looked into it, also doesn't say whether it just hides the content of the thread or the entire thread. You'll have to look into it further.

Just because a hack doesn't implicitly say it does what you want it to doesn't mean that it can't be used for what you need it to do.
