    It might be a bit of a stupid question but what are APIs and how/why should I use them? and what do I do with them if I want to use them?

      api = Application Programming Interface

      let's take for example you want to add antispam to your vBulletin forum from SFS(stopforumspam) then they provide an api which does exactely that.Howto use the api depends on the way it whas created read the manual most likely it will contain example code http://members.vbulletin.com/api <<-- this is the vBulletin api btw why would that question be stupid ? it isn't.You'll not become a coding geek from your first 10 lines of code but the more you do it the better you will get

        Thanks, I should have worded it a little different, I knew what it stud for but it was more how and what is available for VB
