I've looked everywhere I could think, but I can't seem to find the correct vars to edit. When .png or .gif images with transparency are uploaded for avatars a white backdrop shows up, even though the forum/cms/blog has all of its backgrounds dark. How can I make transparency show?

Are the pngs/gifs being used for avatars the correct size or is your software having to resize them? And if so, what Image Processing Library are you using - GD or ImageMagick? ( AdminCP > Settings > Options > Image Settings )

Yes the Images are the correct size. I had it set to GD, but I just set it to ImageMagick and when I tried uploading a picture I received the following error:
Imageinfo Failed: The system cannot find the file C:\identify.exeComment

If you are going to set it to ImageMagick, you need to enter the correct ImageMagick Binary Path also. You may need to ask your host what that would be.
