[CMS] VB 4.1.1 - Doesn't work...

I have upgraded my site to VB 4.1.1

My VB forum is located at
http://www.christianmom.com/forums/

I went into my ADMINCP, and set the following

Forum URL = http://www.christianmom.com/forums
Always Use Forums URL as Base Path = Yes

Forum Component URL = set to http://www.christianmom.com/forums
CMS Component URL = set to http://www.christianmom.com
Blog Component URL = set to http://www.christianmom.com/blog

However, when I go to http://www.christianmom.com, it just shows a list of my folders...

How do I make this work?

You'll need to have your site installed in the root and use the 'sub-directories' then upload the relevant folders from the do_not_upload folder to make this work.

Since this is an existing site, how do I move my ../forums/ setup back to my root level? I need to be very careful, as I do not want to mess up my site running VB since 2001... The instructions provided do not describe my situation... (I don't think so, becuase I can't understand it clearly)

Can you please help me with a more detailed steps?

You don't have to, you do need to follow the instructions listed in the ? Bit, which includes copying files from the do_not_upload folders cms file to the root of your site, and configuring the vb_dir.php file.

I've been trying to put the CMS in my root and all I get is a blank page. I started a thread a few days ago but no one has answered.

I am following these directions:

I did these things:

1) I uploaded files to root
2) mod-rewrite: not using this.
3) Changed settings in Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details. I set the CMS dir to httP://localhost
4) Checked cookie directory. It was the root like it should be.
5) I edited vb_dir.php in the do_not_upload/CMS dir that is copied to the root (These directions are MISSING from the documentation linked above).

I'm guessing the problem is in the vb_dir.php file. My forum is localhost/forum so I set $vb_dir = "/forum/"; and it doesn't work. I just get a BLANK PAGE.

So I tried $vb_dir = "localhost/forum/" and it doesn't work. BLANK PAGE.

I've seen all sorts of weird settings for $vb_dir = "/home/www/www/blah/" ... what exactly should it be set to?

Why aren't there any clear examples in the documentation that show how to make this work? I've spent eight hours researching it and it still does not work!

etc. etc. etc. ... where is the documentation on this? Doesn't anyone know how to make this work? Putting the CMS in the root should work!
