[Forum] How can we see who deletes posts?

We've for a long time now had gremlins in our forum. It seems posts and gallery comments randomly disappear.

From time to time when in the forum, I see the edits made to each individual thread, but when I want to find that area, I cannot! Where do I go to see who made edits to a thread or find out who deleted posts?

I only have one moderator and then me as admin, but I'm wondering if there's something else going on.

I need to get these gremlins out of my forum!

Go to the thread > Administrative > Edit Thread and there should be a Moderator Log on the bottom there. You can also see this in the admincp > Stats & Logs > Moderator Log

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Thanks! I've been to those places...so I guess that's all the places.

What if there is no log for deleted posts. I KNOW they were there. How could they be disappearing? and disappearing without any log of it? It's the weirdest thing.
I've even seen posts be there for days and then suddenly disappear. Could someone else other than a moderator be removing them? If I had their settings wrong?

Do you ever deleted moderator logs? If so, you could have deleted the log where the moderator deleted the post. Or, do you allow users to delete their own posts? If so, that won't show up in any log.

Do you allow any other usergroups to delete their own threads or posts?

When a user deletes their own posts, I can still see a notation that they were deleted.

Sometimes it is even my own posts ...so only me or my one moderator should be able to delete those.

As far as I know, there are no usergroups allowed to delete their own threads accept admin and moderators.

Could it be my host? I'm wondering if their nightly backup might have something funky going on where it syncs odd. That's the only thing I can think of.

But that doesn't make sense either because these posts were there for a while before they got deleted ...and ones posted after them were not deleted.

I saw them there...with people posting under them...then just these two were removed -- only the latest incident.

I saw one on the CMS comments that was there for a week...then it suddenly disappeared and there is no record of anyone removing it. It's been driving me batty. Very random. Not daily, but enough to drive me crazy. We give class assignments and then give credits for assignments and that's why we notice them missing moreso than just chatter.

Have you looked at your server logs (you'd need to ask your host if you have access to those and where they are) to see who has logged onto your server lately?
