[CMS] You are not authorised in 4.1PL2

sorry about this ladies and gents, I did do a search and found no relevance,,, so please advise.

On 6 of my buttons when clicked I get?



4TI-Adnin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

This occurs on

classifieds
arcade
eshop and helpdesk.

None of those are default vbulletin files. You will need to talk to the modification authors about why this is happening.

lol I pay 250 quid for a vb liscence and this is the support i recieve? great customer service! and back up as guaranteed by your promo literature..

this is a generic problem and instead of saying maybe you should try this,,, you retort with not my problem mate...

In fact I am going to conclude this by saying I was looking for commercial software to sit neatly with the forums I sell year on year. My company target this year is just over 100 forums… and I currently have orders for 20 to e completed by Jan.
Guess which commercial software I will not be using?

I have a very similar issue...

Ver 4.1 PL2 - no addons/plugins or modifications, slight template colour changes only.

Problem background:
I had an issue with the table filedata, it became corrupted and caused runaway mysql processes and high server load. Hosting company unhappy and users could not access Threads that contained attachments.
I switched off the forum in cms.
I could not 'repair' the table as this kept failing in both cms and phpmyadmin so I replaced with a slightly older backup copy.
I moved attachments from database to file system.
I can now access the posts with attachments again - forum still off.
In cms everything works 'except' I cannot switch the forum back on.
if I try to save the 'Turn Your vBulletin On and Off' I get the same error - You don't have permission to access /forums/xxxxxx/options.php on this server. (xxxxxx is the admincp directory)

I have checked file/directory permissions
I have checked my admin user id is superadministrator in config.php
I have checked my administrator permissions are all set to yes

I have randomnly checked various cms tools and everything seems to work fine except for switching the board back on :-(

any ideas?
