    [Forum] SSL issue

    Hi,

    In my Admincp -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / ....
    I have both 'Forum URL' and 'Homepage URL' beginning with http://

    So if I click on a https:// link within my vbulletin site it goes to the secure vBulletin link but it says 'Connection Partiality Encrypted'.

    If I change both 'Forum URL' and 'Homepage URL' to begin with https://

    It works, but the whole site is now SSL, which I don't want.

    Is there a fix for this, please.

    There is no fix for this from the vB end. Either the entire forum is under https or it's not.

      If you run vB under SSL you need to make sure every url begins with the https:// If you have any external links and they are not https:// you will get messages regarding the page is only partially encrypted. There is a lot to consider by taking vB to https://

        When you're behind SSL, all content should be delivered via ssl.
        You'd want a plugin to detect what url the user is on (ssl vs non ssl) and set the vbulletin url then. The downside is it requires modifications and is better suited to vBulletin.org

          Thanks, I'll try there.

          Which of these 'Forum URL' or 'Homepage URL', does it use to detect the url the user is on (ssl vs non ssl) and set the vbulletin url then.
