  • [CMS] How to fix database?

It is obvious now that I have some database corruption. As described here (link) there is some strange behaviour when I create new section, move this section in another one, move articles from one section to another... In few words, every time I try to fix my structure, I create a bigger mess and finaly I have to restore database from backup.

I would like to try to fix it by myself, editing database. Is there any instruction how to understand database? For example, I see table vbcms_sectionorder. It looks like this:

Name:	sections.JPG
Views:	1
Size:	41.7 KB
ID:	3719214

I see several sections with same sectionID, following values are nodeID and displayorder. Do I have one section listed several times? Is this ok or needs to be fixed? And where are sections listed, with it's parameters? I see only articles, categories... tables, but no "sections" table.

The first thing you should do is run admincp > vbulletin cms > verify and repair node table.

There is nothing obviously wrong with your <table prefix>cms_sectionorder table. It shows that a given node might be in position 1 in one section, position 5 in a second section, and position 6 in a different section. If you look at the interface you'll see it supports that arrangement. By far the most important table is <table prefix>cms_node, which holds the section/article hierarchy. If you want to understand that I suggest you read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_traversal or http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/...ical-data.html.
Please- I'm not tech support. Don't send your problem reports to me unless I've asked you to.
