I was at 4.0.8 and put on the patch.

Should it now say 4.0.8 pl1 or just the 4.0.8?

All I did was unzip the patch, upload the two files (into the includes), they did the overwrite, and the site works. Just no indication of pl1 . The file sizes did change.

Am I right or wrong in thinking that the pl1 will only show when (if) I did a complete upgrade.

The version number will not change on the forums. You should see 4.0.8 Patch Level 1 in the Admin CP though.

All is just as you say.

I use winscp so it allowed me to look "into" the version file and yes it is also there as suspected.

That was so fast you had to have been watching as I keyed the question in
