[Forum] How to get rid of duplicate users in bulk

I recently used IMPEX to transfer 2200 users and around 70K posts from a PHPBB install on forum.rune-tips.net. Now, after the transfer, the user accounts got duplicated multiple times - each account has several account duplicates named "import_Name" in the database. There aren't any tools in Impex or the ACP that can merge or delete all of these duplicate users, and my users cannot log in as a result of this. How can I delete all of these duplicate users?

There is no option to do this en masse. That is there because all those users were already registered on your forums with those names, hence the 'imported_' prefix.

Assuming you did not finalize this import in the past, can you explain why you already have accounts with those usernames?
