[CMS] How do I adjust Article Length

How do I adjust Article Length? I know I have the option to "Full Display in Section Page," but where do I go to define the number of characters to better tailor the length of the Article?

Now I have a new problem ...it breaks some articles, and some it doesn't work. I am completely puzzled ...any suggestions?

Edited ...it only works for the first article and not the rest with a two column settings

NM ...I selected "Content Page Only" and that fixed the issue.
