  • [Forum] Disabling home page in user profile?

How do you disable from users profile the home page option? I have looked everywhere and can't find it.

My forum is only new and I am already getting spam placed into this field so I want to turn this option off to members.

Any help or ideas would be great.

    Thanks!

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Please explain.

I want to disable registered users when they sign up to my forum the ability to put in their web address in their profile page.

If you click on a member and view their profile, if you look on the left of the page, under their profile picture it says home page with an arrow next to it. If you click on this it will take you to their home page of their web site if you click on this. I don't want members to be able to have this feature to promote their web sites. It is already causiing spammer to put up their websites selling stuff!

If I'm correct, this member is talking about the homepage link field that members can use to link back to their website.

You can remove it from the profile using template edits.

Admin CP => Styles & Templates => Style Manager => Edit Templates => Member Info Templates => MEMBERINFO

Find this code and remove it : ( search for it piece by piece )

        PHP Code:
        <vb:if condition="$prepared['homepage']">
        <
        li>
        <
        a href="{vb:raw prepared.homepage}"><img src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_siteicons}/homepage.png" alt="{vb:rawphrase home_page}" class="inlineimg" /> {vb:rawphrase home_page}</a>
        </
        li>
        </
        vb:if>
        Then save the template,

Hello I just did this and also wanted to add that if you want this to apply to previous registrations, you also need to edit memberaction_dropdown otherwise the home page is still in the users drop down box
