[Forum] Access masks and promotions

We have a system that uses the promotion system to add folks to usergroups. But we also need the abilty to remove folks from a usergroup for various reasons.

Access masks appear to ignore the usergroup permissons. Promotions add the folks back to the usergroup in every hour if we uninvite those users.

Any ideas for a solution besides full manual usergroups?

Promotions are very limited within vBulletin and you're going to find it very difficult to set up automatic rules that will promote/demote based on specific rules. Essentially once promoted that's it, at least as it stands with vBulletin at the moment.

Now I've seen a mod that that can demote and repromote users based time between logins and post, I used it for a while too and it works very well but I'm not sure if this would be a benefit to you. Do you mind me asking what your criteria is?

The idea is that users are allowed access to an area after a certain amount of posts or subscription. If a user is not longer welcome for whatever reason, we need to be able to limit or remove that access permanently.

Cool, well you're very limited in what you can automate then. The mod I was reffering to was called inactive members/lurkers or something along those lines, try searching for either terms.
