[CMS] articles on the main page

Is it possible to change the layout for articles on the mainpage? I don't want the articles to load all the widgets example videos etc.

I just want the article with some basic widgets on the side.

When you click on articles i want to use a different layout then the current section. Possible?

You may put the Articles into a different Section and then use a different layout on each section. But, the way the system is, the section page and all the articles in that section use the same layout.
