[CMS] How to great a blog on the homepage?

I want to have a blog on the "home" page of the site without the "Blog" section as a separate tab in the menu kind of like http://howardforums.com/ or http://www.nexusoneforum.net/ . How exactly would I got about doing this? I want the blog to be edited only by certain users (admins and super moderators).

For the first site I am not sure off the top of my head. The second site is using http://www.vbadvanced.com

You have the suite?

If so, I am guessing you could change the value of the tab to Home and turn off the CMS, or change the value of the tab in both.

I don't know how to do it, but I am certain you can.

Thanks for the replies. I think the Howard Forums example is much easier than we're making it out to be, I think they're just using the Standard CMS with pagination turned on to make it look like a blog and just putting all the content into the "primary content" widget.
