  • [Forum] 4.08's User Profile image paths breaking Stylevars edits

    In order to help improve Pagespeed times and overall page loading times, I created a number of subdomains and edited the ImagePaths in Stylevars accordingly. For instance, for the Stylevar imgdir_misc, the image path is now subdomain http://imagesmisc.forumurl.com.

    The new images associated with User Profiles in 4.08 are now stored in subdirectories. For example, paintbucket_icon.png is stored in images/misc/userprofile/. This new icon is referenced in the MEMBERINFO template with the following code:

    Code:
    <img src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_misc}/userprofile/paintbucket_icon.png">
    Unfortunately, this 'breaks' the subdomain pointer -- it doesn't seem to pick up the subdirectory reference so this image is sought in the original images/misc parent folder.

    Is there any way to unbreak this? I know I can just copy all the images in the various subfolders into the main directory but that's ugly and I don't want to have to fight this with each upgrade.

      Any traction on this? I just found this after my VB4.1.0 upgrade. I take it that the screenshot below is somewhat related to this problem?

          A link? I was just asking a question on if this is a problem that others have faced before and what was the fix. What ticket should I have just so I know.

            I do apologise, I thought you were the OP. You should have started a new thread. No worries - what is the link to your board?

                    For some reason, it looks like your CSS has reverted. You'll need to edit the CSS for that style. Do you have a backup of the style - and is this custom style a member or customised on the Default Style?

                      I do have a backup of the style, yes. This style is a custom stlye from the company Blue Pearl. So you're saying to revert to the original CSS files?

                        Try to revert to the original style XML/CSS, and don't merge the CSS templates.

                          I'll admit that unfortunately I don't know how to do this

                            You'll need to "Upload a style" and select the overwrite check mark.

                              Yeap, I just tried that. I uploaded the original XML file and selected "Use style file even if it was created by a different version of vBulletin?" I chose to merge into a copy of the original style, but doing that didn't make a difference. Even going back to the orignal vBulletin Style still has the same problem.
