I see the activation email text refers to the same code twice, is this necessary?

Also the href 'America Online Users' text appears after the link, rather than before which is a little confusing for people not familiar with forums.

You can change the text of the mail by going to AdminCP > Languages & Phrases > Phrase Manager and selecting 'Email Body Text' from the 'Phrase Type' dropdown.

Regarding the link, the formatting is correct. If you open an editor such as Dreamweaver and create a link, you'll see this as:

<a href="url.html">text here</a>

If an email program parses this differently, that's a parsing issue.

Yes, agree with where you change but the code in the languages and phrase are identical apart from the href are they not?

They should be however AOL users have historically had problems and the second link has been necessary for it to work in that software.
