  • [Forum] Uploading larger files gives error...

When uploading larger files (>5mb), I get an upload error.

Default style is used as well as disabled all mods.

My max php upload is 200mb.

    Any tips/suggestions?

"Upload Error" Using the flash uploader (tried using the AJAX and Regular upload but still had the same problem) after uploading the file, the red exclamation point displays. Hover over the icon and all it says is upload error.

I also checked the attachment sizes in the adminCP. Attachment sizes are set to max. I tried using different attachment size settings as well but had the same result.

Take a look in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) and there should be a more helpful error in there.

Also, go to Maintenance > Diagnostics > Upload and let us know the results of that test.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

          file_uploads: On open_basedir: /var/www/vhosts/website/httpdocs:/tmp safe_mode: Off upload_tmp_dir: None upload_max_filesize: 200.00 MB
No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading.

Logs did not show anything either.

What is your MySQL max_packet_size? Are you storing attachments in the database or the file system?

              MySQL Packet Size 1.00 MB

I am using whatever VB has as the default attachment storage.

Then you're stuck with a 1mb upload, unless you switch to the filesystem.

When you login to AdminCP, you should see it on the home page there along with other server stats

                        Packet size = 1.00mb

                        Storage is on the database.
                        Converting to server failed.

The path is /image/attach ?? Or can i change it?

You need to create a directory on your server for them and then enter the path in the textarea when you convert to the filesystem. It is recommended to not put your attachment in the public_html directory, but instead put them at the same level in your hierarchy. ie /home/sitename/attachments And make sure the directory is chmod 777

I don't use cPanel, but I would imagine you could. I always set permissions using my ftp client or via ssh.
