  • [Forum] Duplicate Threads all over the place (4.06)

    I have an interesting problem, which has appeared since I upgraded to 4.06. The issue MAY have been around before the upgrade, but I never noticed it.

    Some threads, at random it seems, are being duplicated many times.

    If you look at this example: http://seoforums.org/seo-questions-answers/ you can see that

    thread "please answer it" and "page titles SEO Newbie" are duplicates, with the same thread ID - so they are not double posts.

    Is this a known bug? Does anyone know how to fix it?

    thanks!

        Sounds like you have got a spammer on your hands.
        Best to ban these people as they can make your forum bad for those loyal members.

          He's already stated the threadids are the same. It's not spammers.

              site is back online now, I was doing some pretty big caching upgrades - saving local html files for certain page types.

              anyway, problem is still there, hope someone can help.

              thanks

                Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
                Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

                PHP Code:
                define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

                Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

                If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.
