  • [CMS] Guests Unable to Create Article

In one particular section I would like guests to be able to create articles. I have the permissions set in the AdminCP> CMS Permissions to ? Can Create, Can Read, Can Publish for Guests in that particular section.

I've gone into vbCMS and set the permissions "Can Post'.

and I've gone into the Unregistered/Guest Usergroup and set the permissions "can read, can post".

Cleared the CMS Cache and still receive a "You must register to access this page" warning. So what am I missing to enable Guest Posting in 1 (sub)section only.

    Section is located:

    Home> idea> contain > New Section

Is the section published? Do you have Show on Section widget set to Yes for the section?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

I can find a section called Gift Ideas on your site (I assume that is the "idea" you were talking about), but I can see nothing called "contain". If the users can't see that, then how are they supposed to get to the "New Section"?

oh sorry lynne, those were just examples. The actual tree would be:

          Holidays> Halloween> Halloween Costumes > Costume Submission

and once I get the section to function properly, I'll be adding a Halloween Section Widget to The entire site with a direct link to this particular area.

Guess what? I can't get this to work on my test site either. So, I'm guessing it is a bug which needs to be entered into the tracker. :/ If I try using a direct link to create an article, I get a log in screen.

Phew, I thought it was me, I tried it 5 ways from tuesday and couldn't get it to work. I even left it overnight to see if it was an IP caching issue. I get the same screen- redirect to login

In all fairness I can see why they would assume that you wouldn't want unregistered to be able to spam your site. But, as you have shown, some people might want it. Should require a double yes to allow it or some would get in trouble.
