Hi I have 2 vb 4 forums one is used as a forum and the other was set up to practice with. I now want to start a new forum with the second license. I went to the "members Area" at vB and changed/ edited the domain name of the one I use to practice with to a new domain name , uploaded the files again and tried to configure to a new database, on trying to install I got a message saying that I have vb already installed, do I need to delete the practice forum?Tags: None

Is the database you are using a new database or does it have vBulletin on it already?
If the latter, you probably want to run ./install/upgrade.phpMichael Biddle - Follow me on Twitter!

I have three databases, one is dedicated to an active vb forum. Here www.myforumplace.com , the second database has a vb forum but I have only ever used it to test and learn the ropes. it is not used as a forum (It is purely a trial forum) . here http://www.forumjustforyou.com/forum.php
I now want to start another serious forum so I went to vb members and edited the URL from http://www.forumjustforyou.com to a new URL. I then set up a new database for that new URL, uploaded vb scrips and tried to install, on trying to install I got a message saying I have already installed vb. So my question is this if I delete/uninstall http://www.forumjustforyou.com will I then be able to process to install a new forum?

No, just make sure you point your config file from your new site to the new database and not the old test database.Michael Biddle - Follow me on Twitter!

by osras1At this time I have a licence with the domain name osras.org. I plan on taking down that domain and putting up a new domain name. How do I do that.? I will be using the same host.

by MrSquidI've installed vB5 as a new install on a test site. I followed vB's instructions on creating a new test site , have vB 5 installed and running, and I have the config file pointed to my new database....
