  • [Forum] 4 problems - chmod permissions?

I am having a few issues with my vb site that I was hoping I could get resolved. I've done a few searches that yielded no solid results. I've tried disabling all plugin's even as far as uninstalling them. I've checked chmod file permissions but something still isn't right. I didn't have any of these problems before updating to vb 4.x suite.

    1) A member said it best
It seems that every time I post something on a thread, I get the message that I need to wait 30 seconds in between posts before I can submit another one. The strange thing is that I usually only post once per visit, so the fact it is telling me I need to wait before I post my first post is kind of confusing me. And if I do more than one post, it takes me forever to post because I usually tend to stupid when I do it quickly
Could the flood control be malfunctioning in some way? This problem persists through updating from 4.0.4 to 4.0.5

    2) The quick reply to thread button doesn't always work. Double click or not. I have quick reply turned on. It sometimes works or other times it just seems to refresh the page and not post the reply.

    3) I cannot upload pictures to the site. When i originally upgraded to 4.0.4 it didn't upload the members original album images either. The files are all still in the folder so it hasn't been overwritten. It's chmod 777 /customalbumpics

    4) Whenever I click of FAQ it goes to a white screen. I've looked this up and I can't find any solutions.

    Specs
Forum version 3.8.4 to 3.0.4(suite) about 3-4months ago
Current version of VB 3.0.5(suite) - Going to update tonight to 4.0.6(suite)
    linux server

I would really appreciate any help that I can receive
    Thank you

1/2) I would check these issues using a totally default style and with modifications disabled. See if you still have the same problems.

    3) What do you get going to Maintenance > Diagnostics > Upload ? And, are you getting an error when you try to upload pictures? Are you able to upload avatars or is it only attachments that you can't upload (or only album pictures)?

    4) Here is a page from the manual about troubleshooting blank or 'white' pages: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

It's a copy of the default style with the background color changed. However, I get the same results with the default style.

No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading.
It's only a problem with the album pictures

You didn't say if you tried disabling your modifications.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

        PHP Code:
        define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

Regarding the albums, when you did the upgrade, you had the album images in the correct directory so the upgrade script could move them to the correct new directory (they are now mixed in with the attachments)?

I'm sorry, yes I did disable the plugin system through the config.php file I also uninstalled all the plugins that were installed. Except vBulletin blog and vBulletin cms.

The images were stored in /customalbumpics folder in the root forum folder on the server.

However I don't think the upgrade recognized the album pictures if that helps. It didn't recognize the avatars either and I had to move a backup copy of the avatar pictures to the server and I believe I edited a few settings to get the avatars to show up.
