I am really really new to vbulletin forums.

Can someone tell me by simple steps how to change colours on a style? I have a white background on the message areas of the forum and I want to change them to black.

I also need to know how to change to colours of the fonts too cause at the moment I have a white background with black type, what I want is a black background with blue type.

I have no idea how to change this and like I have said, I am so very new at this.

Can someone please help me!

It would help if you posted screnshots of the areas that you want to change the colors. Anyway, have a look at this link. It might come in handy

To change the message area in posts change the postbit_background stylevar. Whereas to make the font blue, change the postbit_color stylevar. Hope it helps.

One more question. The section where the avatar shows at the side of the messeage, what is that called so I can change that back ground to black too?

If you click the Main Postbit you can see all the boxes and match the colours from the stylevar to your site
Its alot easyer and your learning also
