friendly url mod rewrite - clueless

I would like the above two forum threads to display as:
http://www.domain.com/forum/televisions/sony-tv
http://www.domain.com/forum/cars/honda-accord
http://www.domain.com/forum/televisions/sony-tv-372
I am assuming this way would be better so there are no duplicates.
Hope someone can figure this out here.. thanks again!

friendly url mod rewrite - clueless
I am not very familiar with mod rewrite rules except that they belong in .htaccess... so here it goes... I am looking to accomplish this:
Currently I'm using "Basic Friendly URLs" which show a forum at:
http://www.domain.com/forum/forumdis...?9-televisions
http://www.domain.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?9-cars
I would like the above two forum categories to display as:
http://www.domain.com/forum/televisions
http://www.domain.com/forum/cars
--
And then the threads inside forum categories currently display as:
http://www.domain.com/forum/showthread.php?24-sony-tv
http://www.domain.com/forum/showthre...7-honda-accord
I would like the above two forum threads to display as:
http://www.domain.com/forum/televisions/sony-tv
http://www.domain.com/forum/cars/honda-accord
Thanks!Tags: None
