  • [Forum] One Forum -> 2 Domains

    Hi all

First , Before anyone jumps into conclusions

i already have 2 licenses for my forum

one expired at 3.8.0 and a new 4.X one

so here is what i want to know

can vbulletin forums be run through 2 domains ?

for example i want the index page as follows

    www.domain1.com/vb/index.php
    www.domain2.com/vb/index.php

same pages but accessible through the 2 domains

is that possible and does it need 2 licneses ?

P.S. i already tried redirect one domain to the other and it sucks so please think of new solutions
    Thanks

    Yes,it is possible.
    Installation of vB: www.domain1.com/vb/index.php

    Park domain2.com

    You can access it at:

    http://www.domain1.com/vb/index.php
    http://www.domain2.com/vb/index.php

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

You don't park it. As far as I know that means something else.

You redirect to the other one using plesk/cpanel. If I read the above correctly.
        Hmmm. Cheese.

          Your site is: domain1.com
Your forum is in a folder:vb
          Accessible at: http://domain1.com/vb

You do have another domain name:domain2.com
          In Cpanel PARK domain2.com

Whenever you type in the addressbar : http://domain1.com/vb you will see your forum.
Whenever you type in the addressbar : http://domain2.com/vb you will see your forum.

Do you have another spare domain name, named domain3.com? Park it and your forum will be accessible at :

          http://domain1.com/vb
          http://domain2.com/vb
          http://domain3.com/vb

You do need one licence only.

Also make sure that your cpanel hosts nameserver is set where your domain name is registered.

                Hey guys i tried parking

it works but forum threads and posts are all showing in domain1.com not domain2.com

is there a way to add a domain to vbulletin to make it phrase links in 2 domains >

for example all threads in a certain forum if accessed through a domain2.com url all threads will be domain2.com
