    Anser to (c) - block_html template. Remove the button collapse there. The rest of the questions still stand...

    This is an old thread but it provides the important answer --- however:

    (a) how do you keep the sidebar open by default?

    (b) what happens to people who have already closed the sidebar - will the answer to (a) force the sidebar open?

    (c) I'm trying to figure out how to remove the collapse for each block. Just removing the big one helps somewhat as a user can vertically collapse the box too, lol.

    (d) If none of this is possible, can you remove the javascript sidebar entirely and replace it with a graphic version or just enter the correct code to make the sidebar widgets appear in the sidebar space without the javascript?

    how could such a blunder make it's way through the entire process? There must have been plenty of people wanting a non-collapseable sidebar.

    Thanks.
    At the FORUMEHOME template find and remove the following code or comment it out.

    HTML Code:
    <a id="sidebar_button_link" href="#">
    			<vb:if condition="$show['sidebarposition'] == 'left'">
    			<img id="sidebar_button" src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_misc}/tab-collapsed-left.png" alt="" />
    			<vb:else />
    			<img id="sidebar_button" src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_misc}/tab-collapsed.png" alt="" />
    			</vb:if>
    		</a>

    Another way would be to add this code at the additional.css template

    Code:
    #sidebar_button_link {
    display:none;
    }
    Hope it helps.

    You'll have to edit it out of the template, there isn't a setting for it.
