[Forum] PM Notification but no PM there

Some of my users are getting PM notifications but there is no PM there. Can someone advise me on how to remove the notification since we cannot remove a PM that doesn't exist?

I'm having the same problem. It says I have 1 unread message but when I open my inbox, there are no unread messages. Someone please help!!
