That's why I wasn't finding it - plug-ins were not enabled to begin with!

Go to Settings -> Plugin/Hook System and enable.
Now when you go to Plugins/Products you can go to the download/upload plugins and browse to the downloaded xml file.

Just for those that are newbies like self.....

I would be interested too - if you find out, could you post in your link too please how to install mods. Every post I have found so far seems to imply it is done from the admincp and its just a couple clicks, but can't figure it out.

Sorry for being such a bonehead, but is there a possibility of finding a more exhaustive description of how to install and implement mods?

    Adding navbar buttons?

Been looking through the manual and CP, but seem to be selectively blind.

I'd like to add a button in the main navbar (Home - Forum - Blogs - What's new? - My own button) linking to another page; is there perhaps someone who could point me to the relevant chapter in the manual, or even lay out a short tutorial?
    Thanks in advance!
