Can the index.php be used to pull up a specific CMS section?

Easiest way is an htaccess file. Or you could do a 302 redirect. Google "php 302 redirect", or see http://www.internetofficer.com/seo/302-redirect/ You can make the page actually display the exact content but it's more complex than just copying the index.php file. You'd have to write some php code.

Other way around...
I want index.php => Home
and example.php (copy of index.php) => section 2 under Home
