    [Forum] So confused about everything. I NEED HELP PLEASE!

    I just obtained the Lic for a vbulletin forum. I'm really excited to start running my own site. However I'm so confused on everything.
    My site is having major issues with posting, members logging in, HTML doesn't work, the pages aren't loading and the problems go on.

    The version we have now is 4.0.2 and I have downloaded the 4.0.3 PL1. But now I don't know what to do with it. Its jsut in files on my computer. Where do I go from there to actually get it working?

    I have searched and searched everything on THIS forum to help me out but nothing makes sense. Its all sounds like gibberish to me.

    I need someone to be patient and walk me through step by step. I don't even know how to log onto the real Admin Panel not the admin panel I was allowed BEFORE I took over the site.

    Our MWL <--That is my site.

    I really need help on how to do EVERYTHING. The Ads, google adsense, but mainly I need to get my site working to normal again. I hope the upgrade to PL1 will fix the bugs.

    Someone PLEASE help me

    Who installed your forum to begin with?

    For the upgrade to 4.0.3 PL1, you need to take those files you downloaded and upload everything contained in the "Upload' folder to your site. (delete the install.php from the 'install' folder, you won't need that.) After you have uploaded the files to your site, run this from your browser: http://www.ourmwl.com/install/upgrade.php and follow the instructions. (Enter your customer number and then just click "Next" for each page thereafter.)

    Your vBulletin Admin Control panel is in the default location, add /admincp to the end of your site address to get there.

    Let us know if this makes any sense to you.

      THANK YOU SOOO much for writing back. I'm almost in tears.

      Question: How do I upload to my site?

      This is what I mean step by step. I don't know how to do that and I don't understand that.....lol I'm very new at this.
      I was given the site and left to figure everything out on my own.

        Ok I added the /admincp to my site url address but I'm still in the limited admin panel. I'm missing all of the site settings to change ads, change styles, & templates all those options in getting the site to look how I want it to look.

          Can't help you there, whomever controls the site as the owner needs to give you full administrator access. You appear to have only limited access.

            Most people have FTP access to upload files to a website. There is a free program called FileZilla - but this only works if you have the login information for the hosting site.

            Do you have access to the control panel for the hosting account where your forum is hosted? This is not the same as the AdminCP...

            I'm short on time as I need to be at a dinner in about 35 minutes from now, but I'd be willing to help you directly after you can get the information sorted out.

            Your Target Items:

            Access to the Hosting Control Panel for your site. (or FTP information)
            Access to the AdminCP for vBulletin

                Your forum is hosted at the root level, so it's this: http://www.ourmwl.com/admincp/

                    You are using GoDaddy hosting; so there should be a control panel @ GoDaddy for your website. Do you have access to that?

                              Alternativly you can start a ticket at your member area and one of the vb staff can upgrade the forum for you.
