  • [Forum] Error Messages / Why?

    We are getting about a half dozen error messages/day. Our webhost says they were working on our server two days ago, but that doesn't explain all the other days since we upgraded the board a few weeks ago. ???

    Here's a typical error message:

    Database error in vBulletin 4.0.3:

    FROM post AS post

    post.visible = 1 AND
    post.threadid IN (0,9696,9317,10056,257,216,9898,2581,9327,7333,55,8572,7745,9404,9691,4369,6828,8695,6402, 9318,9572,6646,9033,2814,8923,5883,289,89)

    The error is that is lost connection to the database during the query. That sounds like a host issue, not a vb issue. You might want to inquire with the host to see if they have any logs for database issues, and see if there are any time similarities.

      Ya, that and the old "MySQL server has gone away" error usually just means an oversold shared server. Regardless, it doesn't look like a vbulletin error, especially if you're getting different errors at random times.
