  • [Forum] forum.php not loading fully...

    I'm not sure where to start with this problem.
    We just upgraded to 4.0.2 - we were quite a few updates behind, and had just been hacked. After the upgrades forum.php does not fully load, but does not give any errors that I can see. It only loads the first forum piece, and only the first child forum below the main heading. The bottom/footer of the page is not loading.
    Clicking on the link that does come up loads the section just fine. Using forumdisplay.php to type in the "number" of a forum (like www.fitnessboard.net/forumdisplay.php?7) will display that full section - so I know the database is there.

    This is what it looks like when I click the "forum" tab:

    If I hit refresh it will display differently every few times I click refresh (I circled the areas that change):

    and finally occasionally when it will load it comes up like this:

    Going into an area via "forumdisplay.php" shows something more like it should:

    I am not the main coder for the site - I am just trying to troubleshoot and figure out what I should be looking for. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

    Anyone have any thoughts? We really want to get the forums back online before we start losing members...

      Take a look at your error_logs. Also, try disabling all your plugins via the config.php file.
      Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

      PHP Code:
      define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

      If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

        Disabling plugins via config file did the trick. Just have to figure out what it is that was actually causing the problem - but this will allow us to get the forum open again. Thank you.

          I removed all of the outdated plugins that we have, attempted to re-enable the plugins and the problem re-occurred. Only 2 plugins are CMS and the blogs... so clearly there is a problem with CMS.

            Maybe a bad CMS widget?

            widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
