  • [Forum] Can't log into forum, lost vbulletin customer number!

    Having a terrible day!

I've moved a server from "http://domain.com/x" to "http://www.x.domain.com". I forgot to change the settings before i moved the files / database across. So now when I try to log in at x.domian.com, It says "Thank you for logging in" and then when it goes back to the index page, I'm logged out again.

I think i need to change the URL to x.domain.com, but am unsure how to do that through the database?

The other thing, I was going to create a support ticket.... but I've lost my customer number and password. I have also changed my email, so cannot email it to myself. How do I go about verifying who I am and getting it sent to my email?

    Thanks

    Adam.

Thanks for this, I have contacted them. I still need some information on getting the forums to work. I believe I have fixed the URL issue now, I just need to change the cookie paths?

if you only have one URL pointing at your forum them just leave the cookie paths blank.

Oh right, as long as you haven't changed your domain name I can't see the problem.

Couple of things you could try though.

            Delete your cache and cookies.

Even though when you log in it still says you've logged out have you tried clicking on a thread? I was having problems with logging in and even though I appeared to be logged out once I dipped into the forum I was really logged in.

The domain HAS changed though. From domain.com to x.domain.com the cookie pats are different.

Is there any reason you can't move everything back to the original domain, log into adminCP, remove the cookie info then move stuff back? Don't get me wrong. it'll be a hassle but it will get you up and running.

upload and run your tools.php file. It will let you make the changes that will let you back in.

Hey melbo, this is the issue that I am facing. As i am temporarily blockedo ut of the users area, I can't download the archive. Unless there is a spare tools.php file somewhere?
