  • [CMS] Posting videos: Now forces a link in the article preview?

    With the latest vBulletin update, when I post videos they now include a big ugly link to the actual YouTube video in the article preview on my front page next to the video window. I can't see any way to get rid of this link. Please help - it is cluttering up my articles & front page.

    I had this problem too.

    Go back and edit this bit in the article:

    [video=youtube;3l89RtzC_kg]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l89RtzC_kg&feature=player_embedded[ /video]

    - type a title for the video over the long link I've put in red and that should sort it, e.g.:

    [video=youtube;3l89RtzC_kg]The title of the video clip here[ /video]

    Not an ideal fix, but it works.

      That works, thank you. I had originally tried deleting the link completely rather than replacing it with a title, like this:

      [video=youtube;3l89RtzC_kg] [ /video]

      That didn't work at all - resulted in the video not being shown.

      Before the latest update, I didn't have this issue - videos just posted as expected. Reverting this back to the way it used to work would be really nice, if anyone knows how.

        I spotted this issue in the bug list and that's showing it will be fixed in 4.0.3.
