  • [CMS] How do I get a new article to show on the front page?

I guess I'm way too newb compared to others but I can't get my new article on my testvb to show on the front page. I created another "Section" called "Featured Ride" and then created a new article within that Section. Well, I also want it to show on the Front Page. This is possible, correct?

Also, how do I delete the "default" CMS Sections/Categories? I can't find a way to get rid of "Food", "News", "Travel", etc.

Need a dang how-to-use-the-CMS document or something. LOL.

    Help is appreciated.

I encourage you to read this.

Edit home section, select "content from -> include subsections", select a sort order other than "manual only", make sure content is published and CMS permissions allow viewing by whoever you want to view.

Thanks for the reply. I've done all of that and I still see no new articles on the front page. I created the article in a sub-section of a new section I created. Is this the only place I'll be able to see it or should there be a setting to show the new article on the front page as well?

That's explained in the blog I referenced. There are a number of settings and I don't know what you have, but in the home section start with "newest first" sort and "include subsections". Make sure the article and section are both published. You shouldn't have to clear CMS cache but I always do that before throwing up my hands.
