Reverting templates

In the announcement for 4.0.2, there was included a list of templates that required reverting. This is because new code or stylevars or *something* was added/changed that WILL cause problems on your board if you don't change the template to add/change this. You can hit Edit on the template and then View History > Compare and see exactly what was added/changed and then modify your template to add/change it.

After upgrading to 4.0.2 in the admincp it shows that I need to revert two templates.

1. Why do I have to?

2. If I have a couple of mods installed where I had to edit one or two templates would that cause vb to want to revert the templates?

3. If not would I lose those edits and cause the mods not to work if I do revert?

This is an area that confuses me. Any help in this area would greatly appreciated.
