  • [Forum] Post and Quote the Already Quoted

I could be wrong but I thought I saw on some vB Forums that when you "Reply with quote" to a post that already contains (a) quote(s) in it, your post would include those quote(s) as well.

If this functionality is not built in, anyone ever heard of it? Where can I obtain it?

    Thanks in advance,

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
    Vote for:

    - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
    -
*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
    - "Quick Route" Interface...

To the OP: You can do it without modification:

I agree. I will submit this as a suggestion.

This isn't really what I'm talking about. I'm referring to:

          1. Person B has a post with a quote in it from Person A.
          2. Person C quotes Person B's post.
          3. Person C's quote of Person B's post should include Person B's quote of Person A.

In other words, when you quote someone's post (Reply with Quote) it should automatically include that person's entire message INCLUDING any quotes that person has in their message. There should not be a separate button or setting to do this; it should automatically occur for any "replies with quotes".

I've created a suggestion thread. Here it is.
