[Forum] how to post an article in a section only and not have it appear in main page

trying to post an article to appear in only one section
when posting in section it will also appear on the main page
any way to post article to a section and nothing
else
tryed moving from main to section and then delete the article in the main section but then deletes it out of that section
boy do they did a maunual for the cms for vb 4.0 what a mess
