So the section name is no longer showing on that particular page and therefore there is nothing to hover over to get a pencil? The link for that main section is content.php?1-home-page/edit (or content.php?1/edit) so you may be able to go there directly. Otherwise, you can try going into the Section Manager and perhaps the name isn't showing there either? but there should still be a pencil to the right and you can click that and give it a name.
Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

OK, I'm not understanding... just above my last post your wrote this:
in my sections title all I have is one Home and yes there is a pencil to the right of home
And, no, yours won't be named Home Page. That is what I call my top section. Yours will be named whatever you have it listed to be named in your Section Manager.

Lynne No pencil on the home page at all (I get a pencil only when in control panel >CMS>Sections Manager>title >Home)
I think I lost something important on our Home page. I do not see anymore the name Home page in center above where articles would go. also I do not see the rss letters that should be there as well. Is there a way to restore that page to original
thanks for your help

Did you perhaps modify any templates? Like the template vbcms_content_section_page

I see Home there. That looks normal to me. (Except you seem to not have any widgets on the right hand side.)
