Hi Lynne. My problems seem to be multiplying.....The problem right now: For instance, With Thumbnail Creation off. Quick Reply is disabled, so it's the full WYSIWYG editor window only. Creating a new or replying to a thread, From the editor, clicking the little image button, clicking add image from computer, uploading the file. The image is then displayed in the editor as code - attach - number - /attach. No preview of the image is displayed in the editor, the user does not have the option to re-size the image or alter how text is wrapped. At the moment when this is posted the image is displaying full size in the thread. I say at the moment, because in some earlier posts on this same setting it was displaying the image in the thread post as a link to the attachment. Now if I turn thumbnail creation on, at the moment I get exactly the same result as described above. Again I say at the moment, because earlier on this setting with thumbnail creation on, I was getting the image size and text wrapping options. This is all in the Forums. The CMS has exactly the same issue at the moment. Any images added in the manner described are only shown in the editor as code. They display full sized in the published articles, but without the text wrapping options in the editor etc the articles look very badly laid out. Am i making more sense? I've tried this in IE8 / IE7 compatibility mode and Firefox 3.5.7. I've tried it logged in as an admin, and I've tried it logged in as a user. I've cleared the cache and refreshed the page each time. Nothing seems to help.....

I'm not sure exactly what your problem is right now.... You insert an image and it shows up as a link instead of an image? Exactly how are you inserting the image? Via the Quick Reply and clicking the little Image button and then what? Insert from computer or insert from URL? A bit more detail here would help me test what you are doing on my test site and give better suggestions on what to look at.

Actually that doesn't seem to have fixed it anymore. It's almost like it's random. Now when trying to post an image as a user, it only inserts the code, whether or not thumbnail creation is turned on or off, it isn't making any difference anymore?

Sorry, I deleted what I wrote, and actually, you looked at the wrong spot - I mentioned the *Image* Verification Library, not Human Verification Library. Sometimes users pick an invalid Image Verification Library and that causes problems. That's why I was mentioned that. But then you made a new post as I was writing mine and so I rewrote mine.

Hmmm, it used to be that you could get the link to the attachment in the attachment manager and you could put a link to the full size image anyway, now you can't. I'd have to play with this a bit to find out what you can do. Meanwhile, maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

I've worked out the cause, now I need a fix! OK the setting I'd changed was ACP>Settings>Options>Message Attachment Options>Thumbnail Creation - Set to no. I set this to no because in my forums my users want to be able to display images in-line in their posts their original size, without having vb create a thumbnail so that you need to click on a link in order to view the image as an attachment. The problem that this has caused is that when I am creating an article using the editor in the CMS, it will no longer create a preview thumbnail in the editor, so I lose WYSIWYG functionality, ie. I can no longer use the editor to set image display size or text wrapping options. If I set Thumbnail Creation to Yes, the CMS editor then works properly, but my users posts aren't displayed the way I want them. IMHO this is whack. The CMS and the Forum posting options should not be linked in this way. Could you advise if there is 1) a work-around 2) this is a bug i should raise 3) you think this is a feature request? Thanks.

    Attaching Images Behaving Differently

Hiya, wonder if you can help me with another CMS mystery? I've been happily(ish) creating article in CMS, attaching images all working fine. When I've tried to create a new article in the CMS today, any image (using the image attachment icon) I upload is only showing as code ie. I've tried different file sizes and formats, but they all have the same end result. no preview and no ability to edit text wrapping or display size. The odd thing is if I upload a file from my hard drive that i've uploaded previously to the CMS, this will display as a thumbnail, so this is only occuring for new images. i also tried uploading images in the attachment manager the existing images display with thumbnails, but the new images display with a blue "?". I'm using the full WYSIWYG editor, logged in as admin and I'm not aware of having changed any permissions / quotas etc since my last visit! Any ideas? Thanks.
