Got mine to work after 4.0.2 when I opened every section for edit (in front end) and saved it. Now all sections show up in small navbar. At least for now...

Sections inconsistent behaviour
Hi Guys,
I'm having the same problems with the relationship between sections published with correct permissions set and ability for the sections to be visible to in my case an unregistered user.
I have been using subsections but these do not appear to display correctly to any user other than admin.
I even have sections displaying with out any permissions being set.
I'll place a support note so that you can look directly at my site in case this helps you.

Hi,
I have a bit different problem. Maybe I will explain again;
1. I have Sections that are published from the Section manager in Admin CP
2. Sections are made visible from the Section manager from Front page
3. CMS Cache has been cleared
4. Section permissions should be correct
5. Section can be seen in Section Widget
6. Sections just wont show up in the navbar after I change the settings in Section manager ifrom Front page
See images to clarify.
Any ideas?
/Chris

Bizarre !
I've changed the order of the section items and so long as one of them [Focus on Tackle] is in the bottom 2 it will work, if I promote Focus on Tackle up the list higher than 2nd bottom everything below it is hidden! I've double checked everything I can and I'm bemused at the time I've lost doing this.
Thanks for all those who have helped! I don't know what's wrong but I can now control it . .
Not sure if the guy at the top has the same issues as myself? I hope this may help him.

On the 2nd picture in the admincp, if you click on say match section it will open to show match section and its subsections, are those all published?

Ok have tested on my site and can have 2 sections with subsections working without being logged in, the only thing I can suggest is in the admincp section manager, click on the section you have subsections for and make sure the subsections are published and then recheck the permissions.Last edited by Ferrari27; Wed 20 Jan '10, 7:35am.

I didn't explain very well,
In the sections Widget in CMS I have a full menu system. As admin I can view ok, as a user I can not.
This was a feature introduced in 4.0.1 but even though I have the correct setting in all areas, Post Published, permissions set, as a user I can not view passed the first item that has a submenu.
It is the very same on the Vbulletin site. Image 3 at the bottom shows this.
I think most people are testing their own sites as admin and may not be seeing this, I'm sure I've treble checked everything and it's still not showing for 'normal' users.

Be sure you have the appropriate checkmarks for those people you want to be able to view, create, edit, and publish content.
Look at the images, should the vbulletin site also have the same issue? The last image this forum home pages ...Last edited by Lloyd Rush; Wed 20 Jan '10, 6:51am.

Check your permissions at AdminCP > vBulletin CMS > Permissions.
