  • [CMS] Section links disappear

I am having some issues with Sections. I have been trying and trying but I cannot see where the problem lies. And I have not found any good threads anout this issue. Maybe I just can't use this new SW.

Anyway, I have deleted all the sample posts and sections from 4.0.1. Then I created new sections that suite my site. Then I created some articles and put them on these sections.

Now everything is good, after I have checked these Sections to be visible from Home page I can see the section link below navbar. But then I go and mess it up by changing the layout of the new section into some specific layout I have created in Admin and adding the SEO URL and the section desappears from the menubar!

I have four active Section but none of them show up below the navbar after I have changed the settings. And YEs, all of them have been checked from the admin in all sections.

What am I missing here or is this just a bug?

    Section of that article: http://www.snorkkeli.net/content.php...ukellusuutiset

I've got the same issues, only noticed this since 4.1 and the introduction of the 'Hide from Section Widget' - I've toggled sections on and off with the option but still now show.

This is a pain and I've lost hours on trying to work out what's going on. I've cleared the Cache etc but now joy. Anyone got a reason for this now working?

In testing it appears than anyone other than someone with admin rights can not view the sections that fall below the first section with a subsection ie a + option, only the first section with a subsection is shown.

Still can't find a work around other than have a single section called menu and put the lot in there ! Madness.

Tee Hee, take a look at the VBulletin Home CMS - it has the Bug Too !!!

Has no one else spotted this as I'm guessing not many would test the site using a normal 'User Account' - can it be we have all had rose tinted glasses on concerning this issue?

What it looks like as admin on my site:

          and as a user:

and as a user on VBulletin Forum - if any MODs check this they'll need to do so without admin rights.

Have you published the sections that go missing? I have sections not published yet but I can see them when logged in as admin, but not when logged out.

Not sure about the CMS on this site, maybe they have permissions to only certain usergroups see sections would also suggest you check your permissions also, maybe they have reset

Check your permissions at AdminCP > vBulletin CMS > Permissions.

Be sure you have the appropriate checkmarks for those people you want to be able to view, create, edit, and publish content.
s.molinari - I would like to ask all customers to definitely feedback issues with the software and be specific with the issues, but to basically suck-up what happened in the past and try to just look forward.

Yep, all published and all have the correct setting and locked in the adminCP vbulletin CMS

Look at the images, should the vbulletin site also have the same issue? The last image this forum home pages ...

                  I didn't explain very well,

In the sections Widget in CMS I have a full menu system. As admin I can view ok, as a user I can not.

This was a feature introduced in 4.0.1 but even though I have the correct setting in all areas, Post Published, permissions set, as a user I can not view passed the first item that has a submenu.

It is the very same on the Vbulletin site. Image 3 at the bottom shows this.

I think most people are testing their own sites as admin and may not be seeing this, I'm sure I've treble checked everything and it's still not showing for 'normal' users.

The categories far outweigh the menu - I'm only guessing. Even if it doesn't I've still a huge issue! Thanks for trying by the way... scratching my head here as to why no one else has the issue or am I the only one using this feature?

Ok have tested on my site and can have 2 sections with subsections working without being logged in, the only thing I can suggest is in the admincp section manager, click on the section you have subsections for and make sure the subsections are published and then recheck the permissions.

On the 2nd picture in the admincp, if you click on say match section it will open to show match section and its subsections, are those all published?
